About the Website Design Process

Website Design and Development

The basic concepts of effective web design are to:

  • attract visitors and encourage them to remain on you site
  • increase sales while decreasing costs
  • improve customer service
  • keep customers, members, or relatives informed
  • ease of use

As a small family-operated business, we will have more time to consult with you and personally oversee all aspects of your website development. We create custom templates with individually designed logos that will inspire visitors in ways that cookie-cutter sites can not. The entire process takes a bit of planning, but the end result is well worth the effort. Our sites will give your visitors a rewarding experience while we provide you with high quality, cutting edge results in a timely and cost-effective manner. After all - your satisfaction is our only true measurement of success!

Website Design Contract

A complaint of many website owners is that they never know exactly what to expect from their website designer.

Cornerstone Websites understands the needs of our clients. Prior to begining a project, we will sign a contract detailing hard completion dates, the services that have been purchased, and initial/ongoing website costs.

Website Re-Design

Websites are a work in progress and never a truly finished product. If your site has turned a bit stale and needs a fresh look, it may be time for a re-design. Even if you are not a current Cornerstone client, we can transfer your entire site to our hosting accounts free of charge. Our web solutions will ensure that your goals are met in the most timely and cost-effective manner.

Associated Costs

In most situations, we provide estimates based on the required end product rather than an hourly rate. This is because hourly rates are not beneficial when comparing our services to other website design firms - unless you know exactly how many hours the website will require.

When making comparisons, note that many website designers require a minimum fee for each project. Some are in the thousands of dollars! You can be assured that at Cornerstone, no website is too small and no client will be refused based on a dollar amount.

In most cases, the cost of a custom website will depend more on its function than appearance. It takes the graphic artist about the same amount of time to produce any attractive web design. Creating page design is a small part of the overall site-building process.

The largest part of the cost involves the web developer's coding and database work (if required). Although much of this is invisible, these items are what give the site its functionality. To this end, costs are usually asociated with the number and complexity of site applications.
